CLT Foreclosures legal

Terms of Service

Last updated: May 28, 2026

These terms explain the rules for using CLT Foreclosures and the limits of a public-record research platform.

1. Acceptance

These Terms of Service govern your use of CLTForeclosures.com, including foreclosure listings, maps, alerts, accounts, subscriptions, calculators, form tools, guides, and related services.

By accessing or using CLT Foreclosures, you agree to these terms. If you use the service on behalf of a business, fund, brokerage, team, or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

2. Informational service only

CLT Foreclosures aggregates, organizes, and explains foreclosure-related information from public records and related sources. We are not a law firm, financial advisor, title company, trustee, lender, broker, auctioneer, government agency, or property seller.

Nothing on the site is legal, financial, tax, investment, title, bidding, or real estate advice. You are responsible for verifying public records, title status, lien priority, property condition, sale terms, court deadlines, and financing requirements before acting.

3. Accounts, alerts, and newsletters

You may create an account to save properties, manage alert preferences, access subscription features, and receive email updates. You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure.

Account creation may include an option to receive foreclosure digests or newsletters. You can unsubscribe from promotional emails, but we may still send account, billing, security, alert, or service-related notices.

4. Public records and data limitations

Foreclosure data can be incomplete, delayed, amended, postponed, withdrawn, duplicated, contested, or recorded differently across public sources. Sale dates, upset bid deadlines, opening bids, parcel data, party names, and status labels may change without notice.

You should independently confirm all important information with the trustee, Clerk of Superior Court, Register of Deeds, tax records, GIS records, title professionals, attorneys, lenders, and other primary sources before relying on it.

5. Subscriptions and paid features

Paid plans, if offered, are billed according to the plan terms shown at checkout. Unless stated otherwise, subscriptions renew automatically until canceled.

You are responsible for taxes, payment details, and charges associated with your plan. We may change features, pricing, or plan availability with reasonable notice where required. Refunds are provided only when required by law or expressly stated by us.

6. Acceptable use

You may not use CLT Foreclosures to harass homeowners, tenants, bidders, trustees, attorneys, or public officials; violate privacy or fair housing laws; interfere with site operation; reverse engineer or bypass access controls; or use the platform for unlawful activity.

You may not scrape, crawl, bulk-download, resell, republish, or commercially redistribute CLT Foreclosures data or content without written permission, except as allowed by law or by an active plan that expressly permits that use.

7. User submissions

If you submit information, feedback, corrections, documents, or messages, you represent that you have the right to provide them and that they are accurate to the best of your knowledge.

You grant CLT Foreclosures a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, use, copy, display, analyze, and process submitted content for operating, improving, securing, and supporting the service.

8. Third-party services

The service may link to public-record portals, county websites, mapping services, payment processors, email providers, data vendors, or other third parties. Those services are governed by their own terms and policies.

We are not responsible for third-party websites, records systems, payment processors, auction outcomes, legal notices, property access, title issues, trustee communications, or user transactions.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

CLT Foreclosures is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the service or data will be complete, accurate, current, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CLT Foreclosures and Chesstyle.net, LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost opportunities, investment losses, bidding outcomes, title problems, missed deadlines, or reliance on site content.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for the service in the three months before the claim or $100.

10. Changes, termination, and governing law

We may update these terms, modify features, suspend access, or terminate accounts when necessary to protect the platform, comply with law, address misuse, or operate the business.

These terms are governed by North Carolina law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be handled in state or federal courts located in North Carolina unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Questions about these terms can be sent to legal@cltforeclosures.com. You can also review the Privacy Policy.
